In the event of an emergency in your classroom:

Call or text 911
Evacuate to your Emergency Assembly Area 
- OR - 
If it is unsafe to evacuate Shelter in Place: lock classroom doors, close and move away from windows and await instructions from First Responders

If at any time you feel physically threatened or are concerned for the safety of those around you, dismiss your class and call 911 immediately.


General Guidance for Classroom Disruption

If a class or lecture is disrupted by a group of individuals or specific event, please follow these steps:

  1. DO NOT physically engage with individuals disrupting the classroom.
  2. Ask students not to engage with disruptors.
  3. Calmly inform disruptors that they must leave immediately.
  4. Explain that classrooms/lecture halls are not public spaces.
  5. If disruptors refuse to leave, call UCPD at (951) 827-5222. For a direct or imminent threat of life, call 911.
